A STORYTELLER is to entertain children at a family fun activity day at a railway museum during the half-term holidays.

Visitors to Locomotion: The National Railway Museum at Shildon can join in the fun, which will have a railway races theme.

The free event is on Friday, November 2, and will form part of the Durham Book Festival.

Author and storyteller Adam Bushnell will hold an interactive storytelling session themed on railway races.

The former teacher will hold the free sessions which are suitable for all ages at 11am, 1pm and 2pm.

Tilly Walker, the author of the Steeplejack Fred series of children’s books, will also be present during the day and she will read extracts from her books at noon and 3pm.

The museum is open daily from 10am to 4pm with free entry and parking.
