A MAN has been charged in connection with the death of a teenage girl who died in the early hours of Good Friday this year.
Kirsty Fennon was walking along the A1085 Coast Road between Redcar and Marske, east Cleveland, at around 4am on April 6 when she was hit by a taxi.
The 19-year-old, of York Road, Redcar, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the taxi called the emergency services following the collision on the stretch of 40mph road.
He was later arrested and released on bail.
On Saturday, a 46-year-old man was charged with causing death by careless driving and is due to appear at Teesside Magistrates’ Court in early November.
