VETERANS of past Tyne-Wear derbies are predicting tomorrow’s Sunderland v Newcastle match ends in a draw.

Several former players were at Ramside Hall Golf Club, in Durham yesterday, to take part in a charity round of golf for special needs children.

Among those taking part was Sunderland FA Cup winner Micky Horswill, who is a patron of the charity Hope 4 Kidz.

Horswill compared his playing style to current Sunderland captain Lee Cattermole, who will be missing from Sunday’s game.

He said: "He [Lee Cattermole] gets booked a few more times than I do to be honest with you. "

Also there were the two distant relatives, former Sunderland player Jimmy Shoulder and former Newcastle striker Alan Shoulder. Both singled out Stephen Fletcher as a key player in tomorrow’s game.

Jimmy Shoulder said: "Newcastle have a better strike force, but that said, Fletcher has scored a goal for every game he’s played in so far. "

Viv Watts, chief executive for Hope 4 Kidz, said: "We’re trying to raise enough money this year to help with a Christmas Party because we didn’t get the funding that we were hoping for. So we have to raise the rest of it like we’ve done in the past ourselves."

Micky Horswill, Jimmy Shoulder and Alan Shoulder all predicted a draw in tomorrow’s big match. The golf game also resulted in a tie.
