A MAN has denied committing an act of voyeurism by spying on a student having a shower at a university hall of residence.
Daniel Steven John is accused of carrying out the offence at Trevelyan College, in Elvet Hill, Durham, on Wednesday June 6.
He is charged with observing the woman doing a private act for the purposes of sexual gratification, knowing that she did not consent.
Twenty-eight-year-old Mr John pleaded ‘not guilty’ when the charge was put to him during a short hearing at Durham Crown Court, today (FRI OCT 19).
The case was adjourned for a trial, to take place at the court next year.
Recorder Deborah Sherwin agree to re-bail Mr John, of High Grange, near Crook, County Durham, on the basis that he does not enter any building associated with Durham University.
He must return for the trial which is scheduled to start at the court on February 13.
