A MAN who was arrested after an accident which left an 11-year-old boy with head injuries will not face charges.
The 49-year-old man, who has not been named, was questioned on suspicion of careless driving after a schoolboy riding his bike in Elemore Lane, Easington Lane, Wearside, was hit by a van on the morning of Monday, August 6.
Yesterday, a Northumbria Police spokeswoman said he would face no further action over the incident.
The schoolboy was airlifted to the Royal Victoria Infirmary, in Newcastle, by the Great North Air Ambulance following the collision.
