GHOSTLY galleons will be sailing through Guisborough Forest to add a swashbuckling slant to this year's Halloween spectacular.
The Forestry Commission, Friends of Guisborough Forest and Walkway and Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council, have teamed up to lay on a chilling evening’s entertainment on Wednesday, October 31.
The mini-ships are the creation of performer Peter Thornett and use eco-friendly Segways as their mode of propulsion rather than a good old wind.
Ranger Cath Bashforth said: "It looks like they have blown in from Whitby harbour and they will be a stunning sight as the darkness falls. We will be inviting people to set out along a spine chilling trail featuring gruesome characters from werewolves to witches. There is nowhere else like the forest on Halloween and this is a massively popular event."
The event runs from 5pm to 8pm and a park and ride shuttle will operate from Belmont House car park, Rectory Lane, Guisborough.
The cost is £3 per person and tickets can be bought in advance or on the night at the Guisborough Forest and Walkway Visitor Centre at Pinchinthorpe. For more details call 01287-631132.
There will be no on-site parking, except for disabled badge holders.
