A LEADING environmental campaigner is to deliver a lecture next week.
Phil Thornhill, National Co-ordinator of the Campaign Against Climate Change, is to speak at Durham University on Friday, October 26 at 7.30pm.
The free talk is in Elvet Riverside in the lecture hall ER201, opposite the Three Turns Hotel.
During the talk, Mr Thornhill will be highlighting the fact that this year the sea ice covering the Arctic Ocean shrank to a record small area.
So much disappeared, that Professor Peter Wadhams of the Cambridge University Polar Oceans Physics Group predicts it will completely disappear at end of summer by 2015.
