A TEENAGE kickboxer is celebrating after winning his first belt.
Thirteen-year-old Zach Glendinning, from Lanchester, County Durham, defeated Scottish champion, Harry Carlin, in his home town of Motherwell over the weekend.
The St Bede’s pupil is now the holder of the bantam weight commonwealth full contact golden belt.
He trains under Wes Fagan with the North-East Kickboxing Academy at Burnopfield Community Centre.
Mr Fagan, from Dipton, said: “I was a bit unsure about setting up the fight because Harry is a tough kid who fights for Scotland with a good record, but Zach handled it no bother.
“He was the first winner when I set up the gym three years ago and is my first male champion, which is great for someone at such a young age.”
