FANS of Geordie pop star Cheryl Cole are being warned to take care of their possessions when the singer takes to the stage tonight (October 17).
The Tyneside-born singer is performing the second of her homecoming gigs at Newcastle’s Metro Radio Arena as part of her A Million Lights solo tour.
However a fan had a mobile phone stolen during last night’s opening night.
Chief Inspector Steve Hails of Newcastle Area Command said: "We want to remind people to keep their phones and other valuables secure, in a closed bag or pocket.
"Make sure you can see your bag at all times and don't leave it unattended where opportunist thieves could dip in and steal your valuables.
"By drawing attention to this issue we want to remind people to take extra care.
"We want people to enjoy their evening and have a good time, not to find themselves becoming a victim of crime."
