POLICE believe a tractor driver could be a key witness to a multi-vehicle smash in North Yorkshire which left three people injured.

The incident happened on the A168 at its junction with Marton Lane which leads to Arkendale near Knaresborough at about 3.30pm on Monday.

It involved a grey Nissan Almera, a blue Land Rover Freelander and a blue MG ZR and officers would particularly like to speak to the driver of a tractor which was parked near the junction.

The driver of the MG, an 18-year-old woman from the Knaresborough area suffered a facial injury during the collision and was treated at York Hospital.

The driver and passenger in the Nissan, a man aged 75 and a woman aged 74, both from the Thirsk area. were taken to Harrogate District Hospital for treatment to chest injuries. All casualties have since been released from hospital.
