AN eyesore site in the heart of a city could be transformed – after 30 years of standing empty.
The Graham Family Trust wants to transform the White Swan Hotel, on the corner of Piccadilly and Coppergate, in York, into shops or bars on the ground floor and 14 apartments on its three upper levels.
The hotel was built in 1912 and the trust had originally considered demolishing and rebuilding it.
City of York Council is expected to make a decision on the proposals before the end of the year.
