ST James’ Park signs have been reinstalled at Newcastle United’s home ground nearly a year after the controversial name change.
The Magpies’ stadium’s 119-year history was restored yesterday after the removal of Sports Direct Arena signs and the replacement with St James’ signs.
It comes after the club’s new sponsor, loans firm Wonga, also took on the naming rights as part of their £32m deal. Newcastle fan Sharon Potter, 42, from Walker, said: “It is excellent. I am over the moon.”
