MORE than 1,200 people have taken part in a Scout county’s biggest ever event.
Durham Scout County staged its annual Confido adventure camp at Moor House, near West Rainton, County Durham, at the weekend(OCT13-14).
There were more than 50 activities, including Europe’s largest mobile zip line, tomahawk throwing, Segway safari, night-time climbing on a glow-in-the-dark climbing wall, archery, backwoods cooking and pioneering.
One youngster made his Scout promise while on the zip line.
On Saturday night, there was a zombie themed party, with help from professional make-up artists.
Jessica Harbottle, 14, said: “Confido is one of my favourite Scout events because it’s a great chance to make new friends. I had such a great time on the activities. There was loads to do.
“The huge zip wire was my favourite – it was amazing.
“Moor House adventure centre looked incredible with over 1,000 zombies on site. I was so scared in the dark.”
The event depended on more than 200 adult volunteers.
