THE GREAT North Air Ambulance helicopter sparked an emergency this morning after damaging a door.
The incident happened at Durham Tees Valley Airport, near Darlington, around 8am when crew found the door to be unsafe just after take-off.
There were no patients onboard and the aircraft landed safely.
No crew members were injured.
A replacement door has since been installed and operations are running as normal.
