MUSEUM visitors can take up a new hobby by signing up to learn the basics of being a blacksmith.
Killhope: the North of England Lead Mining Museum, in Weardale, County Durham, is holding another one of its popular blacksmith days on Saturday.
The session, held from 10.30am to 4.30pm, will be led by Killhope’s resident smithy, Chris Askew, who will guide people through making a wall sconce or a poker.
Booking is essential and visitors are advised to wear old clothes. Lunch is included.
