A SCHOOLGIRL airlifted to hospital after a suffering a head injury while playing netball has returned home.
The 12-year-old was hurt when she collided with a wall at King James I Academy, Bishop Auckland, on Monday.
The girl was assessed on site by a school first aider and paramedics before being flown to The James Cook University Hospital, in Middlesbrough, by the Great North Air Ambulance.
A school spokesman said: “We are pleased to say that the girl involved in the accident is now recovering at home.
“It was the quick response of a trained first aider which ensured that paramedics attended the scene to provide appropriate and timely support.”
