A MAN has been charged in connection with a violent attack in a pub, which left a man fighting for his life.
David Slaven, 32, of Coxwold Drive, Darlington, was last night charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent and is due to appear before magistrates this morning.
The attack happened shortly after 11pm on Monday at The William Stead pub, in Crown Street, Darlington, and left the victim, Mark Drummond, with multiple fractures to his face and a bleed on his brain.
He is in a stable condition in hospital in Middlesbrough.
Police are still searching for a second man believed to have been involved in the assault.
