A MAN has been taken to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation after a large fire in a neighbouring property.
Fire crews were called to reports of people trapped in a blaze at a flat on Dene View in Burnopfield near Stanley, County Durham, at 9.47pm last night.
Crews searched the flat, and by 10.20pm it was confirmed that all the occupants were accounted for.
A spokeswoman for County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue said it was a large fire in the living room of the flat.
A man from a neighbouring property suffered smoke inhalation and was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Gateshead by ambulance as a precaution.
