FORMER Paralympian and campaigner Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson, is to open this week’s charity Durham Shopping Extravaganza.
The event, now in its 24th year, will feature more than 70 stalls offering a range of goods from clothing to food, toys to homeware and early Christmas gifts.
Visitors will have the chance to shop and enjoy lunch at the fair’s new venue, The Wynyard Rooms, at Wynyard Park House, Wynyard.
Mrs Grey-Thompson will also be signing books at the opening day, on Wednesday, from 10am.
All proceeds from the event will be shared among three local charities – Willow Burn Hospice, in Durham, Todys, and Fishing with Tom, a Stockton charity organisation offering coaching and instruction in fly fishing.
The event will take place on Wednesday and Thursday from 10am to 7pm.
