VISITORS to a railway museum are taking part in a giant art project.
The Big Draw event is being run by staff at Locomotion: The National Railway Museum at Shildon as part of a free national scheme organised by The Campaign for Drawing.
The community drawing was begun yesterday and will be in place at the museum until October 31.
Pam Porter, events officer at Locomotion, said: “A few people have had a go, and you don’t have to be good at drawing because it’s just a bit of fun.
“People can draw whatever they want, but each new drawing has to be joined to the image before it. It has gone well so far and visitors will be able to add to the drawing throughout October.”
The museum is open daily, from 10am to 4pm, with free entry. The Big Draw event is in the Collection Building and there is no need to book.
Details on the museum’s events can be obtained from 01388-777999 or at nrm.org.uk/ locomotion
