POLICE have issued a warning after potentially deadly veterinary medicine was stolen from a parked vehicle.
A large number of sachets of Danilon, used as a pain killer for horses, were among items stolen from a vehicle parked in Glen Terrace, in Chester-le-Street , County Durham in the early hours of this morning.
A spokeswoman for Durham Constabulary said: “Danilon is a pain killer for horses in a crystalline form. It is clearly marked as being suitable for horses only and could be fatal if consumed by humans.”
She added: “Any person coming into contact with Danilon is advised to seek immediate medical attention.”
Anyone with information is asked to ring police on the non-emergency number 101.
