Cleveland Police said about 100 homes were evacuated on Tuesday and by far the worst affected area was in and around Stockton. Today a small number of residents were evacuated from Mill Meadow Court in Stockton.
About 450 homes are still without power in Stockton.
St Bede's Primary School, Green Lane will remain closed closed tomorrow due to power problems and Bishopton Centre, a secondary pupil support unit, will remain closed for the forseeable future.
A partial road collapse on the A67 just south of Yarm is being managed with temporary traffic lights.
Bishopton Road in west Stockton is still closed along with Billingham Road in Norton, north Stockton.
There are serious traffic problems caused by the closure of the A66 near Long Newton, between Darlington and Stockton.
