THE Highways Agency has issued a warning about two weeks of resurfacing work on the northbound carriageway of the A1.
Roadworks will take place between Scurragh Lane, Skeeby and the exit slip road at Scotch Corner in North Yorkshire, from October 4 to 18.
The northbound carriageway will be closed from 8pm to 6am and traffic will be in contra-flow on the southbound carriageway.
Access to and from the A1 at Scotch Corner will be restricted and diversion routes will be in place.
Traffic wishing to leave the northbound A1 at Scotch Corner will be diverted to Barton to head south back to Scotch Corner.
Traffic wishing to join the southbound A1 at Scotch Corner will be diverted north to Barton to rejoin A1 southbound.
Highways Agency project manager Andrew Brown said: “The work will provide a smoother and quieter road surface. During the work we advise road users to plan their journeys to avoid delays.”
