THE jury in the trial of a bus driver accused of killing a passenger by driving dangerously is expected to go to see the vehicle today.
Members of the panel are due to travel from Teesside Crown Court, in Middlesbrough, to Sedgefield , County Durham, to look at the bus.
Yesterday, the jury heard evidence from a vehicle inspector and a number of witnesses to the tragedy in Middlesbrough bus station.
Paul Siddoway, 40, from Darlington, was crushed under the wheels of the Arriva X66 being driven by David Luck, 59, on October 24, last year.
Mr Luck let three passengers onto the last bus to Darlington, but is said to have deliberately driven off, shutting the doors on Mr Siddoway.
Mr Siddoway, who was smoking a cigarette and carrying his dog in a blanket when the coach pulled up, ran alongside it to try to get on.
Witnesses say he banged on the doors and shouted, but Mr Luck is alleged to have been impatient and would not let the man get on.
Mr Luck, of Bowes Court, Darlington, denies causing death by dangerous driving and is facing a trial which is scheduled to last all week.
The jury is likely to hear details of his interviews with police this morning, before travelling to Sedgefield to see the vehicle this afternoon.
