A POLICE force has teamed up with a charity to help it raise funds by selling off found and seized property.

Durham Police are working alongside U-Sell, an eBay trading company set up by the West Middlesbrough Neighbourhood Trust (WMNT).

The initial aim of the online company was to help local people receive cash for unwanted goods, while improving their local area at the same time.

Income generated is invested back into local communities through the UChoose programme, which funds small community projects.

The income generated will be divided between the WMNT and the force’s chosen charities.

Christine Jackson from Durham Police, said: “Donation of seized and unclaimed found property allows us as a force to give something back. Usell has already been working with our colleagues at Cleveland Police and hopefully the items we donate will make a huge difference to the charity and eventually our local communities.”
