AN annual Battle of Britain parade and service attracted hundreds of marchers as the bravery of the RAF was celebrated yesterday.
The Middlesbrough parade, led by the Band of 405 (Darlington) Sqn ATC, formed up at the South African War Memorial, in Albert Park, before marching to the cenotaph, where a service was held at 11.30am. After the service, the parade marched back to the park for the salute to be taken at the war memorial before being dismissed.
Among the civic dignitaries attending the service were Middlesbrough councillors Ron Lowes, Shamal Biswas and Brenda Thompson.
