ONE of the stars of the GB Olympic women’s football team helped kick-off a new fast food shop.
Jill Scott, a central midfielder, who used to play for her native Sunderland but moved to Everton, officially launched the Domino’s pizza outlet in North Burns, Chester-le- Street.
Ms Scott, 25, who also has 58 England caps, was given a lesson in pizzamaking by the store’s staff.
The store is run by franchisee Mike Racz, who has other stores in the region.
A spokeswoman for the national chain said: “On average our stores employ 25 to 30 people.
“We have a combination of roles in the store, from pizza maker to delivery driver, store manager, oven tenders.
“We always think Domino’s is a good addition to any towm.
“We like to get involved as part of the community and we have already got quite a fan base on the local Facebook page we have created.
“So far so good – the store has taken off quite well.”
