DARING fire and water stunts, live music and the UK’s first frisbee freestyle Border Collie are just some of the exciting treats in store at an annual town show this weekend.

Organisers promise this year’s Great Aycliffe Town Show at the Oakleaf Sports Complex, in Newton Aycliffe , will be the best to date, blending indoor and outdoor entertainment and featuring local and national performers.

One of the highlights will be the High Fall Show and the Flaming High Fall Show, which will showcase the amazing skills of stunt rider Aaron Stannage. The 15-year-old is part of the Stannage International Stunt Team and will thrill spectators with daring feats, such as the human torch and flaming high dive.

There will also be a choreographed dog show, featuring the Crufts freestyle champion and the UK’s first frisbee freestyle Border Collie, as well as live music, dance, karate, BMX demonstrations, football and golf tournaments, and a variety of competitions, including crafts, horticulture, home produce, pigeons and pedigree rabbits.

The show, which is organised by Great Aycliffe Town Council, takes place tomorrow and Sunday. Entry is free and parking is £1 per vehicle.
