A POLICE force which had been unable to find a suitable candidate to replace its deputy chief constable has made an internal appointment to the post.
North Yorkshire Police has handed the role of Deputy Chief Constable to Tim Madgwick, who was fulfilling the position on a temporary basis.
The position has been vacant since Adam Briggs retired in February.
Mr Briggs’ retirement followed a nepotism row, which also saw chief constable Grahame Maxwell handed a final written warning for helping a relative during a police recruitment exercise.
Mr Madgwick joined the force in 1988.
