A CHARITY fundraiser hoping to raise £5,000 for Cancer Research UK has convinced her haulage firm bosses to use a pink delivery lorry.

Katie Davison, of Katem Logistics, Spennymoor, County Durham, acted after her aunt, Angela Welsh, was diagnosed with cancer and spoke to bosses at Katem about using a pink lorry.

The firm’s lorry delivers locally and also further afield, including Burton upon Trent, in Staffordshire, every day.

Miss Davison, who works in the firm’s sales department, collected donations in support of using the lorry.

She said: “Everyone has been really supportive.

“I am surprised at how well received the lorry has been and people keep commenting on it.

“Everyone said this is a great cause and a good charity to be collecting for.”

Miss Davison has other fundraising schemes lined up and several colleagues are due to take part in a Boxing Day sea dip in Seaburn, Sunderland.

Runners collecting for her cause are taking part in next year’s Great North Run.
