Fire crews were tonight allowing a barn blaze near Bedale, North Yorkshire, to burn out under supervision.
The alarm was raised at 6.37pm and crews from Bedale and Masham arrived within ten minutes to find the barn on Masham Road, near Snape, well alight.
They immediately requested two further fire engines from Northallerton and a water bowser from Boroughbridge.
The barn, which measured 30 metres by 20 metres, contained 700 bales.
