POLICE have turned to the public for help in tracking down a DIY store fraudster and have issued a CCTV image of the suspect.
The incident began on Tuesday, October 4 when a man bought a number of items in the B & Q store in Darlington.
At about 1.40pm the following day, a man entered the Northallerton branch of the chain in Yafforth Road.
There he took the same items from shelves before taking them to the checkout and used his receipt to obtain a refund.
PC Ciaran Conlon said: “I would like to speak to anyone who may have seen the man at either of the B and Q branches or can help to identify him, to contact the police or Crimestoppers as soon as possible.”
Anyone with any information that could help is asked to contact PC Conlon at Northallerton police station on 0845-60-60-247 or to call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800-555-111.
