A child who became stuck in a climbing tube 30 feet from the ground had to be rescued by firefighters this afternoon.
A crew from Thornaby and a line rescue team from Coulby Newham went to the playground at Preston Park, Eaglescliffe, near Stockton, at 2.30pm and brought the child safely to the ground.
Meanwhile sunshine reflecting in a mirror sparked a blaze in a York hotel this afternoon.
Three fire crews and an ariel ladder were called to the Pavilion Hotel in Main Street, Fulford at 1.45pm.
A spokeswoman said that the fire broke out in a first floor bedroom and was caused by radiated heat - sunshine shining in a mirror in the room.
It caused ten per cent fire dame, ten per cent heat damage and 75 per cent smoke damage to the room.
Staff and guests were evacuated and no-one was hurt.
