A BOY is fighting for his life in hospital after he was hit by a bus while crossing a busy road on a child’s scooter.
The ten-year-old from Hartlepool was airlifted to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough with life-threatening head injuries after being struck by an Arriva bus in Raby Road in the town.
Paramedics from Great North Air Ambulance were called to the scene at about 1.45pm on Saturday afternoon. The boy was anaesthetised before being flown the 11-minute journey to hospital where he remains in a critical but stable condition.
The bus was travelling towards Powlett Road in the Dyke House area of when when the collison occurred.
