AN agricultural worker was airlifted to hospital after falling onto a piece of machinery and becoming trapped by his injuries.
The 30-year-old was working at Brian Robinson Machinery Ltd, in East Cowton, near Northallerton, North Yorkshire, when the accident happened at about 12.45pm this afternoon.
Fire crews worked for half an hour to free the man.
He was airlifted to the James Cook University Hospital, in Middlesbrough, with serious lacerations to his back.
A spokesman for the Great North Air Ambulance said the man's injuries are not believed to be life-threatening and his condition was described as stable.
A spokesman for North Yorkshire Police said the incident had been referred to the Health and Safety Executive.
A spokeswoman for Brian Robinson Machinery confirmed the man was one of its employees but declined to comment further at this stage.
