A BIKER in his sixties has died after colliding with a deer on a North Yorkshire road.
The man, from the Cleveland area, struck the animal on the B1257 between Chop Gate and Helmsley at 11.30 this morning.
He was pronounced dead at the scene. The animal also died.
The road has just reopened.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said: "Anyone who witnessed the collision and has not already been spoken to by police at the location is asked to contact North Yorkshire Police on 0845-6060247 quoting reference 200 of 4 July."
