WHAT difference a day makes. After folding for 84 yesterday, Lancashire wiped out their first innings arrears of 102 for the loss of only one wicket this morning.
The pitch appeared to have become very placid and with a chilly breeze blowing on a bright morning there was little swing for the bowlers.
The one batsman out, Stephen Moore, gave it away when he drove Graham Onions to extra cover after contributing 14 to the opening stand of of 58.
Callum Thorp and beat the bat a couple of times but Paul Horton dominated the scoring to reach 60 at lunch, when Lancashire were 104 for one.
Steve Harmison again had two wides in his opening over and although he did improve he didn’t pose a serious threat. When he returned for a second spell he again opened up with a wide and clearly has a problem to sort out.
