A FAMILY had a lucky escape when their car overturned following a two-vehicle collision in County Durham.
The Great North Air Ambulance was called to the A693 between Consett and Annfield Plain shortly before 6pm tonight.
A spokesman said: "The car was overturned with three occupants inside - a man, a woman and a child.
"The lady was trapped and the fire brigade extracted her from the vehicle, but when they got her out she had just minor injuries."
The woman was taken to hospital in Durham as a precaution, where she was reunited with the rest of her family.
