Today The Northern Echo is launching Health Watch - a new campaign which aims to find out what is really happening in the NHS.
Prime Minister David Cameron has given five guarantees about the future of the NHS and promised that a substantial part of the £20bn being clawed back from the Health Service over the next few years will be re-invested in new and more appropriate NHS services.
• But will Mr Cameron deliver on his five promises?
• Will the NHS as we know it be protected from privatisation?
• Where is the £1.7bn a year being invested in new services being spent and what is being cut back in order to pay for them?
HOW YOU CAN HELP
We want you the public (and that includes health professionals working for the NHS) to tell The Northern Echo whether Mr Cameron is delivering on his promises, where new services are being introduced and where existing services are being cut back.
