POLICE are appealing for the driver of a white van to come forward after a motorcyclist suffered serious injuries while riding along a country road.
A 64-year-old man from Middlesbrough was travelling on a blue Honda motorcycle on the A6108, near Richmond, in North Yorkshire, when he came off the bike at about 12.50pm today.
A white Ford Transit panel van with company markings was travelling in the same direction.
The motorcyclist suffered serious injuries to his head and abdomen and was taken to James Cook University, in Middlesbrough, where he remains in a serious condition.
Traffic Constable Graham Waller, said: "The driver of the white van stopped at the scene but then left without leaving any details. We are appealing for him to come forward as he may have vital information which could help the investigation.
"We are also appealing for any other witnesses to the incident or anyone who saw either vehicles prior to the crash to come forward."
