A JUDGE who was prosecuted after her pet dog bit a neighbour is now in dispute with the same family over a fence she erected without planning permission.
Judge Beatrice Bolton was fined £2,500 in December after being found guilty of failing to control her German Shepherd, Georgina, which bit her neighbour, Frederick Becker, on the leg.
Outside court, she branded the case a “f**king travesty”.
The incident happened in Rothbury, Northumberland, last year.
Afterwards, Judge Bolton had a post and wire fence built across the gardens that lie between the two homes.
However, she failed to seek the required planning permission, leading to an investigation by a Northumberland County Council enforcement officer.
The judge has now submitted a retrospective application for permission to retain the fence.
Officials are recommending permission be granted until June 2013, when the fence would have to be removed unless a further permission was granted.
Councillors will consider the application today.
