A TEENAGER used a stolen bank card to go on a spending spree, including buying pants to make him look like MC Hammer.
Rhys Johnson used a debit card belonging to his mother’s partner to spend nearly £8,000, Teesside Crown Court heard.
He spent the money on an iPhone, mobile top-up vouchers and designer clothing.
The 19-year-old also paid £45 for a fancy dress costume to look like US rapper MC Hammer.
Johnson, of Barningham Street, Darlington, admitted eight charges of fraud.
His case was adjourned until next month for reports.
The judge, Recorder Carl Gumsley, bailed Johnson, but warned him that he could be locked up when he returns to court.
He said: “This is £7,700 or thereabouts in what might be described as a breach of trust case, so all options will be open.”
MC Hammer rose to fame in the Eighties with his hit song U Can’t Touch This, helped by his flamboyant dancing and oversized pants.
