PAUL GASCOIGNE will not face criminal charges after being arrested for an alleged drugs offence.
The former Newcastle United player was taken into custody on October 21, last year, and questioned by police on suspicion of possessing a Class A drug.
The 43-year-old, originally from Dunston, Gateshead, was arrested at a house in Burradon, North Tyneside, and bailed pending inquiries.
The Crown Prosecution Service has confirmed there will be no criminal charges.
A 43-year-old man also arrested in relation to the incident was questioned on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of drugs and remains on bail.
Last week, Gascoigne saw a bankruptcy case against him dismissed at the High Court in London.
During a brief hearing, a judge heard the former footballer had reached an agreement with his creditors.
