THE Royal wedding may have been over weeks ago, but a new artwork portraying the newlyweds is attracting customers to a traditional sweet shop.
The new Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have been captured in the picture that took more than five weeks – and 11,000 jelly beans – to create.
William and Kate are on display in Bah Humbugs, in Masham, North Yorkshire, on the first stop of a national tour.
Lucy Scott Paul, owner of the shop, said: “The artwork was created by the Jelly Belly company, which makes jelly beans, and because I work with them quite a lot I was chosen as the first shop to welcome William and Kate.
“It’s been on display for a few hours and a lot of people have been in to say how much they like it.”
The artwork was created by designer Malcolm West in honour of the wedding and spent a few days on display in London before moving to St Andrews where it took pride of place for the big day.
Bah Humbugs has previously displayed other work by Mr West, including a jelly bean version of Marilyn Monroe, the Queen and Elvis Presley.
