THE man who was found blown up in his own car yesterday morning has been named by police as David Bagley.
The 58-year-old Hartlepool man was found early on Wednesday in the vehicle in the Old Cemetery Road area.
Police are not looking for anyone else in connection with his death, but bomb disposal experts examined the car to identify the chemicals used to create the home-made explosive.
A cordon around the block of flats at Navigation Point, in Hartlepool Marina, where the man lived, was lifted late last night allowing residents and businesses to return to normal.
Detective Superintendent Gordon Lang, who is leading the investigation, said: "Police are not looking for anyone else in connection with his death and are now working on behalf of the coroner in order for him to reach a verdict."
