IF you missed the Memories spot on BBC Tees today, I have the audio and will put it up here just as soon as I have some technological assistance. In the meantime, a piece of snailmail from two readers, who sign themselves Sue and Elaine.
Their postcard is from La Mortola, the gardens on the Italian/French border created by Quaker botanist Sir Thomas Hanbury who was related by marriage to the Quakers and top families in Darlington, as Memories has told last August. That article concluded: "The gardens are open to the public - if you visit, please send us a postcard."
And Sue and Elaine have.
"You said in your article in the Echo to send a postcard if we went, so we here its! Amazing garden, 45 acres stretching down to the sea. A lovely walk down, but at 26 degrees plus, a tad harder walking back up. Well worth seeing and thanks for the informative article..."
And thanks too to them for proving that someone at least read it.
