Eight Year 6 pupils from Our Lady & St. Thomas RCVA Primary School in Willington, spent some of their Easter Holiday in Spain, accompanied by three members of staff.
They were there as part of a Comenius Project “Building Bridges Across Europe” and worked alongside schools from Belgium, Norway, Greece, Guadeloupe and Spain over four days.
As well as lessons in Spanish classrooms, the children were also shown many Cultural attractions, ate Spanish food and had the opportunity to practise the Spanish they have learned in England.
Johanna Whitfield, lead Teacher of the project said “The children were given the opportunity to experience the Real Spain during their visit, as well as having the chance to make many new friends”.
This is the latest in a range of trips the children have had the chance to take part in, as well as others planned for the next school year.
