A CORONATION Street actor took a break from filming to visit a North-East care home at the weekend.
Alan Halsall, who plays mechanic Tyrone Dobbs in the soap, visited Wynyard Woods, near Billingham, Stockton, on Saturday to meet the residents.
Accompanying him to the coffee morning was his wife, Lucy-Jo Hudson, who appears in TV show Wild At Heart.
Staff at the home transformed the residents’ lounge into the Rovers Return and served roast beef and Yorkshire pudding to make their guests feel welcome.
The couple signed autographs, and a signed photograph of the Coronation Street cast was raffled.
Mr Halsall, 26, said: “It is great to be up here in the heart of the North-East. What a stunning place Wynyard Woods is.
“Lucy and I have had such fun with the residents here, and the Yorkshire puds were delicious.”
Lucy-Jo, who originally found fame playing Coronation Street killer Katy Harris, said: “There is such a great atmosphere here at Wynyard Woods. Trish Slater and her team have clearly established a very happy home.”
Ideal Care Homes chairman Lawrence Tomlinson said: “Alan and Lucy-Jo have signed hundreds of autographs and made it a day to remember.”
