ANIMATED stars Wallace and Gromit are to appear in an exhibition showcasing innovations and inventions throughout the years.
The Oscar-winning stars feature in the exhibition Wallace and Gromit Present a World of Cracking Ideas opening at Newcastle’s Life Science Centre, on April 16.
More than 365,000 visitors have seen the exhibition already during runs in London and Glasgow, and staff from the Newcastle venue hope it will have a similar impact as last year’s record-breaking BBC Doctor Who show.
The exhibition is sponsored by The Intellectual Property Office, and features innovations from past and present.
The exhibition also demonstrates how entrepreneurs can protect their ideas using trade marks, patents, registered designs and copyright.
Linda Conlon, chief executive at the Centre for Life, said: “As a region, we have a history of innovation, design and application from engineering to life sciences.
“At Life we inspire curiosity in science so to be able, with this exhibition, to explore invention is an incredible opportunity.”
