A WIND turbine blade crashed to the ground as the region was buffeted by high winds over the weekend.
The device, in the grounds of Tesco, in Consett, County Durham, is thought to have broken off on Saturday.
There were no reports of injuries.
Staff at the shop declined to comment and the company’s national press office was not available.
